Here I am on the beach in my ruffled bathing costume Circa 1954. I was born in Barrow upon Soar (Leicestershire) and lived in Sileby, Barrow and Birstall until 1990 when we moved to Christchurch. Since arriving here I have gained qualifications in Care Management, Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, management, Integrated Business Technology, Desk Top Publishing, Internet Studies, Web page writing and Art & Design at Bournemouth and Poole, and Brockenhurst Colleges and through the Open University. I'm a member of the Institute of Welfare Officers and have also had several years experience caring for people in the community.

My client group was mainly older people. When caring for an older person or any dependant who is unable to manage with out help, they need much thought and understanding. A wholeistic approach is needed to appreciate how this will affect other family members. Things to consider are questions like:- Are the living conditions suitable?, has the person got a good social network? and could they manage to live in their own home with help from the community? Eclectic skills and resources provide good community care when managed to meet the needs of the individual.

y interests now are: computer skills as these will be increasingly important in the years ahead.
